Ajith, beard, and child

Ajith will soon get rid of his beard. Reason? It proves to be a hindrance when he plays with his child. So, what about the get up for his forthcoming film, for which he was said to have grown beard? No problem.

As per the story, Ajith appears with beard only in the initial scenes. The rest of the movie features him with a cute mustache without beard.

The handsome hero has now returned from Hong Kong, where he acted in a fierce fighting scene. Ajith fought with some strangers, who came to attack him, when he came out from Hong Kong airport. Stunt Shiva has choreographed the scene thrillingly. The fight features him with beard.

Ajith will remove his beard after a few days, as a few more sequences are to be shot featuring him with the beard in Chennai.

Ajith's films' Chennai schedule

After the astounding success of Billa and the birth of his baby girl, Ajith is back to business. His upcoming untitled film is being directed by Raju Sundaram and produced by Ayngaran International. The crew left for Hong Kong after Pongal to can a few stunt sequences. Although the unit had planned their shooting for a month, it is reported that they have completed their schedule much before the allotted time and now they are back in Chennai.

The second schedule of the film is slated to commence from 6th of February and no marks for guessing who is the happiest person to be shooting in Chennai. Yes, it is our very own Ajith who is not missing a single opportunity to be with his baby girl. Unit sources reveal that the actor is thoroughly enjoying his fatherhood and the glow shows on his face.

Change of title for 'Robot'

Because 'Robot' is an English word, the title has been changed.
Ever since the Tamilnadu govt announced tax concessions for films with pure Tamil titles, no one keeps title in other languages. Because of this concession, even theater owners benefit. That's why they also insist on films with Tamil titles.

The title 'Robot' is naturally problematic. Even when this title was decided upon, work from writer Sujatha's end started to find a Tamil title equivalent to it.

A nice alternative is 'Iyandira Manidhan.' They have shortened it to an attractive 'Iyandira.' Rajini's grandson is called Yatra. Since this rhymes with Iyandira, the superstar is quite happy the film could well be titled 'Iyandira.'

But anything connected with Rajini could change at the last minute!

Mahesh’s film with Rajamouli, Rana’s with Selva Raghavan

The hottest news doing the rounds in the tinsel ville right now is the film that Mahesh has given the nod for. It will be directed by SS Rajamouli and will be produced by K Raghavendra Rao’s son Prakash.

Rajamouli is the hot-shot director in the industry today.

In another interesting twist, Selva Raghavan who had directed films such as 7G Brindavan Colony will be directing Rana, producer Suresh Babu’s son in his debut venture.

It is a known fact that the entire Ramanaidu family thinks highly of the work of Selva and so it is being said that they thought he was the ideal person to launch their latest hero.

Robot re-christened?!

In less than two weeks of its announcement, looks like superstar Rajnikanth’s next mammoth venture Robot could be renamed. Media insiders speculate that Robot might possibly be re-christened as Iyandira - its Tamil equivalent - in order to befit the Tamil Nadu government’s resolution to write off entertainment

A decade or so earlier, renowned writer Sujatha’s novel En Iniya Iyandira was a rage among sci-fi lovers when it was serialized in a weekly magazine. Later the small screen adaptation of the novel also managed to cause a stir when it was telecast on DD. With Sujatha being an indispensable member of the Shankar stable, there are possibilities of the director drawing inspiration from En Iniya Iyandira for Superstar’s next magnum opus, Robot.

Produced by Karunamoorthy under the Ayngaran banner, Robot’s (a.k.a Iyandira?) ground work has already begun, with the likelihood of this sci-fi Tamil epic hitting the floors right after Rajinikanth’s commitment to Kuselan is over.

Ash in ‘Robot’

It is almost certain that India’s most sought after actress Aishwarya Rai Bachchan has signed the mega movie ‘Robot' directed by Shankar. Aishwarya Rai will play the lead role as the pair to India’s biggest superstar Rajinikanth.

Sources from Mumbai say that the deal was struck by yesterday (January 23) noon. It is said that Aishwarya would be paid a whopping amount of Rs 1.5 crore for the film. The amount, it confirmed, will be the highest salary received by an actress in India.

As we have mentioned earlier, Rajinikanth has been trying to cast the beauty queen in his film right from the days of ‘Padayappa’. His dream to cast her has finally come true in the biggest movie of his career.

Genelia to do Aamir’s next

First it was Asin that Aamir Khan had insisted on. Now, it is Genelia. The impish-looking heroine of films such as Bommarillu and 'Dhee' will soon be seen opposite none other than Mr Perfect Aamir Khan.

But unlike some who would have been shouting from the roof tops by now, Genelia is pretty chilled out and is quite calm as she discloses this in a chat to an industry friend.

There is also Ileana who is debuting in Bollywood in a film opposite Shiney Ahuja.

Ajith stepping into the shows of Sivaji

After acting in the remake of a Rajinikanth’s film, Ajith is all set to act in another remake. It will be a movie that featured the legendary actor ‘Nadigar Thilagam’ Sivaji Ganesan.

Sivaji Productions is planning to remake Sivaji’s blockbuster ‘Puthiya Paravai’, for which the choice of the director is yet to be decided.

Ajith will act in Sivaji’s role, while Prabhu will play the role of the distinctive actor M.R. Radha. The selection of heroine and music director will be made soon. It is tipped that either K.S. Ravikumar or Vishnuvardhan will direct the movie.

So it will be another remake to Ajith, whose market was redeemed by a remake.
